Easy on the eye

‘Easy on the eye’ focuses on hegemonic beauty standards set out by the media, advertisements and photography that encourage women to wear makeup in order to be more beautiful. 

Within this body of work, I wanted to create unusual abstract images that purely highlighted the creative and fun elements of makeup. I have created colourful and experimental snapshots focusing on a naturalistic beauty that all women have. Taking inspiration from Maisie Cousins style of work in which explore art of bodies and femininity through textures and symbols.
